Laurel Little Theatre presents The Addams Family Oct. 16-19 | Local News

Laurel Little Theatre’s season-opener, “The Addams Family,” is the Mississippi premiere of this recent Broadway musical. It’s a feather in LLT’s cap to be the very first company in the state to secure the rights to present this “ridiculously fun and funny show,” theatre.

The show runs Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. The LLT reservation line answers 24 hours a day at 601-428-0140.

In addition to single tickets, LLT offers a special four-punch season ticket at $30 (seniors/ students), $35 (adults), $60 (two season tickets for a couple) or $105 (four season tickets for a family up to four). Buying season tickets makes for an average of just $7 to $8 per punch — live theatre for less than the cost of a movie.

Directors Wess Hughes and Frankie Bennett have a cast of 53 and a crew of 45 in rehearsals final rehearsals. Those 98 folks have put in a total of 11,245 work-hours over the last two months to get ready with a production that includes amazing sets and costumes, and an orchestra.

Music direction has been led by Angie Hodge, Gina Gordon and Jackie Thomas, and Kevin Breazeale has handled the show’s choreography.

The cast is led by Rick and Frankie Bennett as Gomez and Morticia Addams, along with Jackie Thomas as Uncle Fester, Anne LaBelle as Grandma, Beau Blackledge as Lurch, and Luke Youngblood and Morgan Sparrow as Pugsley and Wednesday Addams.

Other lead roles are played by Debbie Brewer, Don Fikes and Kody Loper.

Ghostly Addams relatives include Laura Cooley, Brandiilyne Dear, Darrian Ekes, Will Hodges, Carole Goza, Sonya Maness-Turner, Herb Murray, Jamie Rambin, Dustin Sullivan and Jamie Yarbrough.

The chorus of Addams’ ancestors include Alyssa Ball, Erin Biglane, Darrell Braddock, Erin Brady, Darla Clark, Kate Cooley, Anna Donald, Sarah Fikes, Tim Flanagan, Bailey Hill, Kelsie Hosey, Alivia Knight, Baylee McCool, Matt McCool, Madison Reddoch, Abby Ridge, Victoria Smith and Reagan Todd. Singing deep down in the graveyard pits of the Arabian Theatre will be Cherie Boone, Edward Boone, Gail Chancellor, Shane Cockrell, Angie Hodge, Marian Latimer, Susan Mangum, Kathy Mattox, Matthew McCraney, Danny McDonald, Austin Perkins, Kaye Rowell and Missy Sanderson.

This is the beginning of LLT’s “Fifty Fourth & Fabulous” season, which will also include the musical version of “Little Women,” the Southern drama “The Glass Menagerie” and the redneck comedy “Red White & Tuna.” Next summer, LLT’s annual Kids’ Camp will produce Disney’s “Aladdin.”

The YWCO on Oak Street will host a dinner before theater event on Friday with doors opening at 5:30 with Dinner at 6 p.m. The dinner will lead up to Laurel Little Theatreʼs musical presentation of The Addamsʼs Family. Reservations required by Wednesday. Cost is $15 adults / $10 children 10 and under. Theater tickets are not included.
