Nicole Kidman has addressed a hot topic that made her a viral sensation last year and explained what went through her head when she chose the Miu Miu mini skirt for Vanity Fair’s 2022 Hollywood issue.
The Moulin Rouge movie star has broken her silence on the reason to choose a mini skirt outfit for last year’s Vanity Fair cover. The interview marks the first time Nicole Kidman has addressed the controversy that made her go viral on several social media platforms last year.

Nicole Kidman on Miu Miu mini skirt
The Aquaman star caused a stir on social media when she chose a Miu Miu mini skirt with a matching top that resembled a racy school uniform. Kidman completed the two-piece outfit with long socks and stylish loafers.
In an interview with Australia’s Stellar magazine, the Hollywood actress revealed what went through her head before shooting the cover and said: “I make the most random, crazy choices. I call them ‘teenage choices’ because I just don’t ever think of consequences.”
She continued: “Part of my brain just doesn’t think like that. I just go, ‘Oh, I’m going to wear that; it reminds me of my school uniform.’ Or, ‘Oh my God, yeah, I’d love to do that’. I try to [stay] in that place because I think otherwise you get scared or worried.”
Kidman defends her choice
Kidman is a celebrity with firm decisions and proudly stands behind her bold fashion look for the viral cover.
“It will stop me [from] doing what I want to do. I really try to stay free in the choices because otherwise, before you know it, you’re just closed off and you can’t step anywhere,” the 56-year-old star explained.
Kidman said that she takes full responsibility for the choice of outfit and added: “I want for myself just to keep going, ‘Oh, well, I’m trying something or I wanted to do it. It was fun. That was my choice. And yeah, I own it. I’m accountable. Whatever. I take responsibility. Nobody else chose it.”
Actress has upcoming Netflix movie
The Academy Award-winning actress is gearing up for her upcoming appearance in the Netflix movie with Zac Efron and Kissing Booth star Joey King.
The romantic comedy movie follows a young woman (King), her mother (Kidman), and her boss (Efron) and the consequences of their decisions.
The movie is scheduled to release on November 17, 2023, on Netflix.
